Privacy Policy

Your images never leave your device

All image decoding, layout generation, and rendering happen locally in your browser. Your image files are read from your disk into browser memory and are never transmitted to any server. We never see, store, or have access to your photos or the collages you create.

Anonymous usage statistics

To improve the layout engine, we automatically collect a small amount of anonymous performance data after each collage is generated. This data cannot be used to identify you — it contains no personal information, no device fingerprint, and no tracking identifiers of any kind.

When you create a collage we record canvas dimensions, image count, layout quality metrics (such as coverage percentage), output format and settings, and a rough device class (desktop/mobile, approximate CPU tier). When you download a finished collage we record the file format, quality, and dimensions of the saved image. A random per-session value groups events from the same sitting so we can see whether layouts are being downloaded — it exists only in memory and is discarded when you close the tab. No images, filenames, or personal identifiers are ever collected or transmitted.

We never collect, log, or store:

• Your images, or any pixel data from them.
• Image file names.
• Your IP address (any connection necessarily reaches our server, but we do not log or store it), browser, operating system, or screen resolution.
• Any account, name, email, or contact information (there are no accounts).

Website analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how the site is used and to improve performance and the user experience. The service is entirely cookie-free and collects no personal data that could identify you as an individual. The data processed — such as anonymised page views, device type, and approximate geographic location — is fully aggregated. No data is used to track your behaviour across other websites.

No cookies, no local storage

We use no cookies and no local storage. Your selected images and the collage you create are held in browser memory only and are discarded the moment you close or reload the tab — we store nothing on your device without your action. Because no personal data is collected and nothing is stored automatically, no consent banner is required.

Legal basis

The statistics described above are designed to be anonymous in the sense of GDPR Recital 26: we collect no identifiers and do not attempt to single out, link, or identify any individual, and we do not combine this data with other sources. Anonymised data of this kind is generally treated as falling outside the scope of the GDPR. The sole purpose of collection is to analyse and improve the quality and performance of the layout algorithm. Collage-generation statistics are stored on our behalf by Supabase, acting as a data processor under contract on servers in the European Union. Web analytics data is processed by Vercel, Inc. as a data processor; processing is limited to aggregated, non-personal data under their privacy policy. We do not otherwise share data with third parties and never use it for advertising.

The data controller is Marcus Cedergren. For any privacy question, contact collage-studio@kodverket.se. Because all statistics are anonymous and carry no identifier, we are generally unable to locate or link records to a specific individual.
